Trade between Panama and Mexico grows

The agency, attached to the Ministry of Economy, stated that the main 20 products exported by the Aztec country to the Isthmus in 2015 accounted for 57.6 percent of total exports, which is equivalent to an increase of 148, $ 6 million compared to 2014.

He said that Panama is a viable option to do business with Mexico, thanks to its geographical proximity and positioning as a logistics platform, while companies can also take advantage of the favorable legal and economic framework to promote trade and capital flows.

Between 2011 and 2015, Mexico exported medicines, monitors and projectors, petroleum oils or bituminous minerals and passenger cars to Panama, while imports from the Isthmus nation accounted for 95 percent of the total, equivalent to 114.8 million dollars .

ProMéxico also announced the participation of 18 companies in the XXXV Expocomer 2017 Trade Fair, which will expose its exportable offer that includes agroindustrial, processed foods, alcoholic beverages, footwear, clothing, industrial equipment, software, construction materials And medical supplies.

Scheduled to take place from March 22 to 25 in Atlapa Convention Center, the most important multisectoral fair in Central America includes the participation of about thirty countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, including Canada and Nigeria for the first time.
